I love people watching, especially when I am swimming – one
of the plus points when you swim with your head above water! J
First the couples!
Couple One: Man comes down and selects two loungers
together, as far away from all the others as is possible (of course this makes
it all the more difficult for other half to find you!)
Female comes down and surreptitiously, trying to be cool and
unobtrusive – and thinking ‘where the hell is he – I feel so self conscious –
can’t he give me a clue!’ Eventually she
catches his eye, immediately decides that she doesn’t want to sit where he has
chosen and beckons him to move to another place! J
Couple Two: Man comes
down finds lounger sits looking out to pool - realises it looks like he is
watching me (now if I was a dolly bird he probably would continue to do so!) he
gets embarrassed and nonchalantly turns away and swings his feet sideways,
picks up magazine! Blushes again as he discovers it is Woman and Home! :). He
thinks ‘Where the b.....hell is she? Just how long does it take to put on a
swimsuit?’
She arrives, by this time he is very uncomfortable
indeed! She sits down on lounger beside
him, and proceeds to pick up magazine - he says ‘you haven’t got time for that,
you wanted to go for a swim remember!’ L
And then there are Mums and daughters – daughter slim and
sylphlike (hate her already!) clad in a mini bikini (obviously not thinking of
doing anything energetic in that!) and Mum in body armour swimsuit (like
her!) Both have full makeup on and hair
like they take it off at night and put it on the end of the bed ready to put it
back on in the morning! Not a hair out of place!
Oh for goodness sake has that clock stopped?
Surely I have been swimming for
longer than 15 minutes! Why does every
minute in the pool seem like an hour?
And now can all those people who have miraculously appeared
in the last 15 minutes please go, so that I can get out of the pool, as I am
not sylphlike and nor do I have body armour swimsuit on and can’t hold my
stomach in long enough to get to my towel!
Oh and maybe I should explain that this is a Spa pool where I take my morning exercise ........ I am a bit of a pool snob I'm afraid - oh and I can't swim out of my depth so must ensure that I can touch the bottom at all times - just in case olympic swimmer returns - less chance of me drowning if my feet can touch the ground!
